The Chief of the Staff came like a shepherd to New Jersey's Camp Tecumseh, guiding the flock when the time came to move forward. As he and Commissioner Eva D. Gaither led the New Jersey Division's Labor Day weekend celebrations, they moved among the people, leading by example.

"Windows on the World" was the theme for the event, and nothing illustrated The Salvation Army's worldwide involvement to the people of the New Jersey Division better than having the commissioners speak of their experiences around the globe.

As Commissioner Eva D. Gaither spoke of Women's Ministry endeavors in each of The Salvation Army's five zones, she wore a different Salvation Army uniform from that region. She inspired delegates to see past their own lives in the United States to the world beyond and encouraged them to continue their financial and prayer support.

"Do you love Him?" asked the Chief of the Staff, echoing Jesus' words to Peter. The Chief reminded his audience—soldiers and officers alike—that "Kingdom calling" is not about individuals or money or rank.

"It's all about Him!" he said. Touching his shoulders, he said, "It's not about what's on here." Placing his hand over his heart, he said, "It's about what's in here."
