The folks who brought you the sleeper hit “Facing the Giants” two years ago are back with another movie—and this one is sure to be hot. It’s called “Fireproof” and it opened Sept. 26. “Fireproof” is the third film from Sherwood Pictures, a ministry of the Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Ga.
Kirk Cameron, the former star of TV’s “Growing Pains” who has made several Christian films in recent years, stars as fireman Caleb Holt. When his seven-year marriage begins to crumble, he finds encouragement from a fellow firefighter who is a Christian.
The real turning point is when Holt’s father urges him to take “The Love Dare.” He sends his son a book that outlines how to love his wife better. The transformation in Holt and his marriage is dramatic.
“It’s a very inspirational movie and I’m hoping people will get a lot more than a movie out of it,” Cameron said in an interview with Good News! “I’m hoping that they’ll be able to walk out of the theater and have some real hope and some real practical help for restoring their own marriage.”
